Hair Care

Wefts

Your Brazilian hair extensions can last up to 2 months but generally people are encouraged to re-apply hair extensions every six weeks or at least get them tightened and treated should you wish to keep them in longer.

Daily
We recommend alcohol free styling products if possible. As a general rule, we recommend you use products that you would use on your own hair, as the hair is 100% natural and needs the same amount of care and attention. We recommend thoroughly brushing or combing hair before going to bed and the same in the morning.

Additional Tips
We advise you to sleep with your hair tied in a loose plait, this will minimize the chance of knots and tangles. We recommend washing your hair in downward movements using your fingertips to wash your scalp. The same applies when rinsing the hair, this is to ensure that all shampoo and conditioner is removed.

If you follow the simple instructions above we can guarantee that weft hair extensions can last up to 2 years, something we pride ourselves on.

Pre-Bonded

Brushing
Your new hairstyle should be brushed daily. Use a wide toothed comb or a special hair extension brush. Never use a ball tip or hard plastic bristle brush on your extensions, these brushes can pull and stretch your extensions. Always comb from the ends to the roots and hold your extensions at the seal to prevent pulling. We recommend the use of a conditioning spray; which will help remove any tangles and keep the hair looking healthy.

Shampooing

Avoid wetting or washing your extensions for 2-3 days after initial application (this allows the bonding method to set). We recommend you use a clarifying shampoo which will help remove bonding deposits, styling products and oil left on the natural hair. Many high street shampoos contain silicon that will break down bonds. A rinse-out reconstructive conditioner should be used; this works inside the structure of the hair shaft and should be applied once or twice a week. As hair extensions are not attached to the scalp they do not get the same vitamins and nutrients that your own hair gets and can become dry if a reconstructor is not used.

Drying
To best maintain the curl in your Brazilian human hair extensions allow your hair to air dry. When using a blow dryer it is best to use the cool setting. Use the cold setting on the dryer to set a blow dry style. Avoid pulling your extensions with the brush when they are warm.

Styling
You can style your hair as normal (straightened, curled, cut and blow dried) but take care to protect the ends of your extensions (and your own hair). Avoid using heated styling tools with a metal surface near the bonds as they may melt the bond and could cause it to fall out. Human hair extensions can be coloured. Your 'T' section can be coloured whilst having hair extensions and so can the hairline and parting, but the colour should not be put on the bond itself. You may use any of your normal styling products with your extensions (hair sprays, mousse, and gels) but try to keep them away from the bond of the extension.

Sleeping
We advise you to sleep with your hair tied in a loose plait; this will minimize the chance of knots and tangles.

Maintenance
We advise you to go for a maintenance visit every 4 weeks in order to keep your extension style; this will include the removal and replacement of matted or damaged bonds. You should have the pre-bonds removed after 3 months to avoid any damage to your own hair.
